Here’s what you’ve missed on Creative Shrimp social media during the last few weeks. That’s a joy watching how our creative community is growing, so I decided to share some snippets with you.
Ready to jazz?
Look at this nerd. Sometimes I feel like an imperial stormtrooper. Does it sound familiar to you?
By the way, thank you for 4000 likes on Creative Shrimp Facebook page! That’s astonishing.
And here’s the concept art that my wife Lena painted.
To me it looks like a game location, in style of the classic point-and-click adventures. My inner game developer goes “Mmmm!….”
I guess it’s our cat who mind-controls us to paint and be creative in general. What a bastard!
Lena loves oil painting, but more often than not she uses this digital thingy (some nerds call it a tablet).
What can I say? It happens. F#cken f#ck.
Occasionally I paint concept art myself, but it turns out to be crappy.
Coffee
Didn’t you think that I would not throw some coffee demotivators in this post?
Gazing at these images equals drinking a cup of espresso.
And yet another phunny one.
By the way, now I know that twitter peeps prefer espresso over anything else. Good to know.
Blender
3D Artist issue 92 is full of Blender masterclasses, including one with yours truly (a huge article about lighting). It’s a kind of a Blender-dominated issue.
Featuring Reynante Martinez, Sean Kennedy, Jonathan Williamson, Julien Kaspar and me.
Here is an experiment in making photoscanned assets for my upcoming project (a secret one, about realistic lighting in Blender).
And the source.
Creativity & Motivation
To remind myself that it’s crucial to focus on one thing and actually DO IT, I created a few Instagram pics.
Also one picture from Captain Obvious.

Very excited for the lighting stuff!
Gleb Alexandrov
Me too, me too. :S I’ll make an announcement soon. Hint: it will be a video thingy, related to a) lighting b) blender c) hackers.
Uncle Snail
Thanks for the recap! Looking awesome. 🙂 Ps, why is there a giant hand-print on the dragon’s skull? A giant killed it after touching a freshly painted blue fence? (I love how they’re drying clothes on the rope with the flags. Your wife’s a good clever artist [just like you]).
Gleb Alexandrov
Haha, let’s assume there is some misterious story behind this print. And actually, I like your interpretation :)))

Nice concept work by Lena.
