<p>What makes Vector Displacement Map brushes (VDM) different from normal displacement:</p>



<p>Standard displacement moves vertices along the surface normal (up/down). </p>



<p><strong>VDM</strong> uses a 3D vector (x, y, z) per pixel, allowing full spatial displacement, so it can create overhangs, folds, horns, pores, scales, etc, that normal brushes can&#8217;t.</p>
